Confederate C3 X132 Hellcat is the latest superbike from Confederate Motors, that is comparable to the likes of the one’s made by Harley. It offers one hell of a ride with its 132-cubic-inch Copperhead power with the Confederate powertrain technology. The body looks masculine, with all the bulks going on and is made from a 400-pound block of 6061 aircraft grade aluminum. This bike looks heavy, but it’s not, and is considered to be one of the toughest motorcycle ever made. Limited to 150 units only. $45,000.

We're Billionaires, Now What? Introducing the Sub5zero Fantasy Collection

Fantasy Garage

"If you won the lottery, what would you buy?" Car fanatics have no doubt heard this question, and the second you tell someone you're a journalist it seems like it's a requirment to find out what we lust after. Maybe people hope we'll say, "Your car!" thus validating their purchase of a 2002 PT Cruiser. We won't, because we don't. But dreaming is certainly a big part of who we are, because until we pick those magical 6 numbers, this is how we can get close to our very expensive dreams.

That question got the office thinking about what would we all buy. If we had all the money in the world, and a big enough garage, what would we fill it with? Some people's dream garage has a nice sports car, a comfy sedan and maybe a strong SUV for the snowy months. Not ours. Ours has rows, and rows, and rows of 4-wheeled dreams. You know those people that think Jay Leno's car collection is "reasonable"? That's us. So we're starting a new list for everyone, of the cars that are worthy to be in our stable if/when we become billionaires. We're calling it The Sub5Zero Fantasy Collection. As soon as we figure out how to turn this site into the next Facebook, it'll become a reality, but until then, here's the first 10 cars we'd buy, and why.

Volkswagen Confirms Golf R For United States

Posted by Selectmyseo on 7:32 PM 0 comments

Volkswagen Golf R 01

Well, we've got some good news and some bad news, but luckily it's mostly good news. Volkswagen confirmed that it will be bringing its highest performance Golf model to the United States. That's the good news. The bad news is that the Golf R will take over a year to get here. Still, if you're a fan of small, agile hatchbacks, or of VWs in general, the "most powerful Volkswagen sports performance vehicle ever built" should prove worth the wait.

The Golf R earns that distinguished designation with an upgraded version of its 2.0-liter turbo four also seen on the GTI. On the GTI, the engine's limited to 200 horses, but it will get a "significant hp increase" on the U.S.-spec Golf R. Volkswagen didn't commit to how many horses we're talking, but on the European Golf R, 270 powerful steeds lurk under the hood.

2012 BMW 1 Series M Internet Striptease Concludes [w/Video]

2012 BMW 1 Series M action front 3/4 view

History can be a real pain in the ass sometimes. Few places is this more true than in the world of automotive naming, where diehard fanboys (and fangirls) of a particular model expect any new car tasked with reviving their favorite nameplate to match – if not surpass – the style, capabilities and overall aura of the originals. Some vehicles, like the Dodge Challenger and Ferrari 599 GTO, have succeeded in meeting this challenge. Others, like the Pontiac GTO and Honda Insight, are often viewed as cynical, half-baked attempts at cashing in on a badge with a loyal following. (For the record, we'd totally rock an '04-5-6 GTO; the Cavalier-with-a-thyroid-problem styling makes it something of a sleeper.)

Which brings us to BMW’s upcoming spicy 1 Series variant. Logic would dictate that the decision makers in Munich would follow the precedent established by the non-two-seater and non-SUV M models and call it the M1. The only problem is back in the late ‘70s the company released a limited-production mid-engine supercar of the same name and, as most such vehicles are wont to do, it has wound up reaching icon status in the intervening decades. Not wanting to muddy that legacy with the addition of a front-engine, four-seat coupe (or have to answer any questions as to why the powerplant isn’t behind the front seats or why there’s only one Roundel on its rump), BMW has instead decided to label this new pocket rocket the 1 Series M. And by all appearances, particularly the final teaser video (which followed this one and this one) viewable after the jump, it will be worth the wait.

New Lancia Stratos is Ferrari-based, Makes Over 500 Horsepower

New Lancia Stratos

Among famous automobiles, the Lancia Stratos is perhaps not as well known as it should be. Maybe because only 492 such cars were ever built between 1972 and 1974. It could also be because the Stratos mostly competed in rally racing, which is an oft-overlooked form of motorsports. Maybe it is because people never realized how great the Stratos really was.

Whatever the case, Lancia is bringing the Stratos back into the 21st century. Based on the chassis of a Ferrari F430 Sucderia and with a 540 horsepower engine, this new Lancia Stratos is sure to attract some much-due attention.

Video: 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 on the Dyno

2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392

Chrysler has had a turbulent year, but they seem to have landed on their feet. Besides now being part-owned by Fiat, they have begun rolling out a slew of new products. Thee 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee has gotten a lot of praise, and the new Dodge Charger looks sharp.

Then there is the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Hemi. The top-end Challenger's 6.1 liter engine has been bored out to 6.4 liters. Power jumped from 425 horsepower to a spine-crushing 470 horsepower and 470 ft-lbs of torque. National Speed Inc. strapped one of these monsters to a dyno to see if the numbers back up Chrysler’s claim.

VIDEO: Porsche 911 GT2 RS Gets Wrung Out on the Track

2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS front 3/4 view

For all the grief that Porsche gets for building such, erm, untraditional vehicles as the Cayenne and Panamera, the company deserves a big pat on the back for still keeping core models like the 911, Boxster and Cayman in its portfolio. And while many examples of those models are purchased mainly for the looks and the badge, there are still people out there who buy Porsche’s core models for driving enjoyment.

For these non-posseurs, Porsche makes a handful of truly hard-edged models, none more so than the current ruler of Zuffenhausen’s performance roost, the 911 GT2 RS. It’s one thing to read or hear this thing’s numbers bandied about: 620hp, 3,020 lb., 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, 205 mph top speed, only 500 copies made worldwide, blah blah blah. However, it’s another kettle of fish to see those numbers in action, so grab some tartar sauce and feast your peepers and ocular receivers on the video after the jump.
